Learning Objectives—students will. . .
• acquire skills for witnessing clients from a place of non-judgmental compassionate observation
• build upon basic mirroring skills for the purpose of eliciting deeply embodied client self-awareness
• learn an approach for eliciting the wisdom of the client’s own body for healing stress and trauma, enhancing aliveness and spiritual evolution
• recognize simplistic and limited modes of mental problem solving techniques and replace them with whole-body, heart-based processes for the discovery of solutions to complex problems
• acquire skills for reconnecting clients with their innate inner knowing and creative abilities
• develop the use of language as a tool to deepen embodiment and invoke presence
• expand spiritual and ecological as well as somatic awareness
• acquire tools to access hidden, never-before-expressed places within the somatic-subconscious, while expanding the client’s range of creative expression.
Learning Outcomes—students will. . .
• retain a centered presence while working with highly stressed and traumatized clients
• help clients deal with overwhelming feeling states such as anxiety and anger
• master techniques for grounding and expanding energy, and for strengthening energetic boundaries
• identify key characterological states that drive addictions and eating disorders
• expand understanding of culturally induced states of disconnection and fragmentation and develop ways of bringing body-based and nature-based healing to such states
• guide clients through their deepest core wounds into profound states of peace and well-being
• harmonize and unify deeply polarized or conflicted inner states, as experienced through the body
• enhance and enliven themselves and others
• integrate ecological and spiritual connectivity
• integrate somatic, nature-centered and the expressive arts for optimal results
